Ok, so here they are. I first found this idea on Pinterest, but the recipe was not there, there were just some pictures, so, I took and ran with it. The whole family liked these, they had seconds and thirds. My daughter does not like sauce, so I made her 2 without the sauce and it worked out great for everyone. My husband was already thinking up what else we could me Wonton Wrappers. So, more recipes with these to follow in the near future.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
` 1 Package of Wonton Wrappers
2 cloves garlic
2-3 pieces of cauliflower
1/2 large carrot
1 Package of ground sausage meat
1 jar of spaghetti sauce
1 tsp. salt (will be added to the meat mixture while cooking)
1 package of shredded cheese
Put the Wonton Wrappers in your muffin tins, you want to cook these first so they stay crisp on the bottom, before you start filling them up with the other ingredients.
Bake them for about 10 minutes, until some of the edges are a little toasted. (They do cook fast)
While those are cooking, get your veggies chopped up
Add them to your ground sausage meat while its cooking. I only added one tsp. salt. Thats all the meat needed. The veggies really make a big difference to the flavor without the salt, or Oil, I didn’t add any.
Once the meat is cooked, now you will add your spaghetti sauce.
Your Wonton Wrappers were probably already done sitting and waiting for the meat mixture to be completed.
Start the layering process, fill the tins 1/2 way with the meat mixture, then I took the Wonton Wrappers I had left over and cut them into 4s.
I layered like this: Wonton Wrapper on bottom, meat mixture, then cheese, then 4th of a Wonton Wrapper, then more meat mixture, then more cheese on the top.
Put in the oven, bake for about 15 minutes still at 380 degrees. Keep an eye on them so they don’t overcook, you may want to leave them in if you can a little longer, like 2-3 minutes, so the sauce really heats up.
Here they are. Hope you enjoy this one as much as my family did. I didn’t add any oil, very much salt, and added veggies (that I’m not telling my family they ate hehe)
