fresh or frozen ground beef and or ground turkey
3-4 tomatoes chopped
fresh jalapeno or other peppers if you want to add some flavor
1/4 onion chopped
fresh garlic or the garlic butter seasonings I posted below
Frito-Lay corn chips
shredded cheese (I used the Mexican mixture white & yellow)
re-fried beans- 1 regular size can is enough
Pizza Dough Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups warm water
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup oil
1/3 cup sugar
3 cloves fresh garlic (I’m against garlic salt lol)
some parm cheese (I don’t measure that)
3 cups wheat flour
some flax, maybe 1/4 cup? (I dont measure that)
1/4 cup oats ? (I dont measure that)
2 1/2 tsp. yeast
My breadmaker asks for the wet ingredients on the bottom.
Set it on dough setting takes 1 1/2 hour, or if your in a hurry: use the quick bread setting taking it out right before it bakes. That takes 30 minutes with my Sunbeam breadmaker. Or, you could use your delayed timer setting even better, and have the dough ready when you get home from work.
STEP ONE: Morning
put the ground beef (frozen or fresh doesn’t matter), onions, tomatoes, garlic, jalapenos inside a crockpot in the morning to cook together all day on low. You may add my secret ingredient; the garlic butter sprinkle too. This really helps to have this part already cooked when you come home from work. Now, if you have to cook the meat later in the day in a regular pan you can do that too of course. But, there is something magical about the crockpot. –Notice that I’m not suggesting adding any salt, you dont need it–
STEP TWO: Evening
Make the pizza dough (recipe above)
Roll out dough onto cookie sheet or pizza pans, bake first 15-20 minutes at 375. I dont like to put the ingredients on first with fresh dough, the dough will not cook all the way. Bake the dough first its better.
STEP THREE: after pizza dough is baked
Layer the refried beans on the bottom of cooked pizza dough
then layer on top the meat mixture and salsa on top of that
then layer the cheese on top
then layer a bunch of Frito-Lay corn chips on top
Bake at 385 or higher if your in a hurry LOL for about 15 minutes.
Let cool, then cut and serve.
